Qi means “life-force energy” Gong means “skill.” Qigong is the practice of developing life-force energy and is divided into three main approaches: medical, martial, and spiritual.

These approaches are based on the same philosophical system allowing the equivalent meditations, breathing and movement techniques to be shared.
